About Lose Weight and Gain Health

Hi! My name is Zoe and I live in Hastings, East Sussex, with my son Harvey and dog, Milton. I have been fighting the fat for years but this time I am serious. I want to lose weight and gain health. This blog is about how I am changing my lifestyle so I can lose weight but not by just "being on a diet" but by making small changes to our lives so that as I lose weight, I gain health. I want my family to be healthy too and never have to struggle with their weight like I have. In common with many large people, I have gained and lost weight many times over the years. This time, I want to lose it and maintain a healthy low weight. I am interested in eating food that is nutrient dense and delicious and that appeals to children and adults. I do not eat animal products so follow a vegan diet. I try to use locally produced food supplemented with what I can grow myself. I support and try to use local farmers markets and farm shops. Another objective is to add more exercise to our days. It sounds so simple when I write it down :-)

All About The Veg

I started the day with a simple smoothie; banana, mixed frozen berries, sprouted sunflower seeds and almond milk.  Not bad. I spent the morning at the Sissinghurst Smallholders Fair, held in the grounds of Sissinghurst Castle. There were stallholders there … Continue reading

I went on a little detour to the office in the morning and found this lovely building. I have never seen it before and having found it, I discovered it was built in 1868 and was used as an exchange … Continue reading

Another Day, Another Dollar

Deja vue! I couldn’t resist this cute little sour cherry granola.  It is soooooo good. Lunch was a quick sandwich with an unidentifiable filling!  I went out late and grabbed a sandwich without checking what it was and having eaten … Continue reading

Back to London

After a 3 week break I went back to the London office today.  To celebrate, I started the day with a Monmouth flat white. And then popped next door for some breakfast – a sour cherry granola. I love cherries … Continue reading

Short and Sweet

I was working in the Gillingham office today, which is about a 45 minute drive away so I had plenty of time (i.e. no excuses) to prepare a healthy breakfast and lunch. I got out my little tupperware pots and … Continue reading
