Feeling Peachey

What an amazing day I have had.  Apparently I have lost 15 pounds this week.  Yes, that is what the scales say.  15 POUNDS !!!!!!  I know I have done the 5lbs in 5 days juice detox but even so, that can not be right.  I weigh myself on the electronic scales at the local leisure centre and am wondering if they have been recalibrated or adjusted for some reason.  I will see what the scales say next week but I have obviously lost a decent amount so I am really pleased.

I am also really pleased that this healthy eating seems to be contagious.  For breakfast today, the Little Fella chose to have a portion of last nights dinner reheated (wholewheat noodles, chicken and lots of veggies) and washed down with a large glass of freshly made juice (orange, apple and pear).  That beats the bowl of sugary cereal that most children eat for breakfast.

healthy Harvey I bought some perfectly ripe peaches at Hartley Dyke Farm Store.  If you haven’t been to see their lovely new store, pop in.  They can be found next to Charity Farm Countrystore on Swattenden Lane, Cranbrook, TN17 3PS.  Telephone 01580 712546.   They are open 8am – 5:30 pm Monday – Saturday and 9 – 4 Sundays.

  1. 3 perfect peaches

I ate mine this morning with some porridge which I made with half a cup of oats cooked with 2 cups of coconut water and half a cup of almond milk.  I was going to have almond butter with it but only had a smidgen left in the pot so I added peanut butter too and then some blueberries.  Really delicious and a sensible portion size.  It was enough to keep me feeling full for hours but not too much to make me feel full.breakfast 26-8 To encourage weight loss, I had a juice for lunch.  I juiced 1/4 of a pineapple, some blueberries, lots of spinach, 2 celery sticks, sugar snap peas and the juice of a lemon. juice ingredients 26-8 I blended the juice with an avocado.  Well, most of an avocado as I did have to cut some out as it had gone brown.2 avocado halves Not bad.  Not amazing either but drinkable and full of nutrients.lunchtime smoothie 26-8 For dinner we were having a stir fry.  These runner beans made excellent noodles as the base for the meal.runner bean noodles I cooked up onions, broccoli, mushrooms, spinach and king prawns, flavoured with a splash of Thai fish sauce and fresh coriander and basil.  Another small portion and packed full of goodness.  Eaten and enjoyed by three of us.  No one seemed to miss the conventional noodles or rice so runner bean noodles it will be again.Dinner 26-8-14

I am so chuffed I had a significant weight loss 🙂

About Lose Weight and Gain Health

Hi! My name is Zoe and I live in Hastings, East Sussex, with my son Harvey and dog, Milton. I have been fighting the fat for years but this time I am serious. I want to lose weight and gain health. This blog is about how I am changing my lifestyle so I can lose weight but not by just "being on a diet" but by making small changes to our lives so that as I lose weight, I gain health. I want my family to be healthy too and never have to struggle with their weight like I have. In common with many large people, I have gained and lost weight many times over the years. This time, I want to lose it and maintain a healthy low weight. I am interested in eating food that is nutrient dense and delicious and that appeals to children and adults. I do not eat animal products so follow a vegan diet. I try to use locally produced food supplemented with what I can grow myself. I support and try to use local farmers markets and farm shops. Another objective is to add more exercise to our days. It sounds so simple when I write it down :-)

Congratulations on the 15 pounds. It isn’t possible to have released that much in water, since all your detox juices help to do just that. Remove the excess water weight and act like a diuretic. Parsley is good for this too. Great Day 2 Zoe. You made me hungry and I am now on my way to get some celery and peanut butter. 🙂
