Jason Vale’s 5lbs In 5 Days – Day 4

So I am beginning to feel better than I did before I started juicing but today I have been quite obsessed with food and fantasising about what I can eat on Monday.  it is all healthy stuff but I am feeling frustrated at all the lovely veggies I have in the garden which I want to crunch on or chew, rather than juicing.  I am getting fed up with juice but I have stuck with it.

It was a beautiful sunny day today.  We need to make the most of them because summer is drawing to a close.  The shadows in the morning are so long in the garden now.long shadows on the lawn Have I shown you inside the greenhouse recently?  Everything is doing well but it is fair to say the produce is not prolific, I assume because I planted everything so late.in the greenhouse 23-8 These are aubergines.aubergine plants They have really shot up in the last 2 weeks and are beginning to flower.aubergine flowers The tomatoes are now looking good and healthy but they did not flower much.tall tomato plants There are a few tomatoes growing though.green tomatoes 23-8 The cucumber plants look really healthy but are producing very few fruit.cucumbers in greenhouse Do you know what these are?red okras Red Okra, also known as ladies Fingers.  I am definitely trying one of those on Monday.Red okra 1 Good morning sunshine.morning sunshine The trombetti are both prolific and enormous!Trombetti in gravelI am really pleased with these dahlias; they have done a good job of hiding the ugly coal bunker.

You juice everything except the avocado and then blend the juice with the avocado and ice.  Adding the avocado is genius because it makes it taste thick and creamy and really helps keep hunger at bay.

So 4 days down, 1 to go.  I can not wait to eat some real food.

About Lose Weight and Gain Health

Hi! My name is Zoe and I live in Hastings, East Sussex, with my son Harvey and dog, Milton. I have been fighting the fat for years but this time I am serious. I want to lose weight and gain health. This blog is about how I am changing my lifestyle so I can lose weight but not by just "being on a diet" but by making small changes to our lives so that as I lose weight, I gain health. I want my family to be healthy too and never have to struggle with their weight like I have. In common with many large people, I have gained and lost weight many times over the years. This time, I want to lose it and maintain a healthy low weight. I am interested in eating food that is nutrient dense and delicious and that appeals to children and adults. I do not eat animal products so follow a vegan diet. I try to use locally produced food supplemented with what I can grow myself. I support and try to use local farmers markets and farm shops. Another objective is to add more exercise to our days. It sounds so simple when I write it down :-)
