I Lost 8 Pounds

I gave up sugar.  I gave up dairy.  I gave up alcohol.  I gave up wheat.  1 week later I had also given up 8 pounds of fat.  Yes, I weighed 8 pounds less tonight than I did this time last week.  I am so delighted.  The diet mojo is back 🙂

Breakfast; leftovers from dinner last night.  I could have eaten all of this last night but I am trying really hard to eat less so I put a portion aside for breakfast today.  Brown Basmati rice, mushrooms, red pepper, spinach, kale and roast pork with a little soy sauce and Cholulah.  Nothing weird about eating stir fried pork, rice and vegetables for breakfast !

Breakfast 7-1-14 The sun was out briefly at lunch time.  Still windy though which is becoming very annoying.London buildings Lunch was a salad.chicken and prawn salad 2 Chicken and prawns with lettuce, roasted peppers, bean sprouts, cashew nuts and a spicy Thai dressing.chicken and prawn saladBefore dinner I went to the Leisure Centre to be weighed.  I knew I had been good so I was very optimistic.  It was still a huge relief to see those numbers coming up on the scales.  I raced home to share my good news with my supportive family and had a celebratory sweet treat – an apple 🙂

About Lose Weight and Gain Health

Hi! My name is Zoe and I live in Hastings, East Sussex, with my son Harvey and dog, Milton. I have been fighting the fat for years but this time I am serious. I want to lose weight and gain health. This blog is about how I am changing my lifestyle so I can lose weight but not by just "being on a diet" but by making small changes to our lives so that as I lose weight, I gain health. I want my family to be healthy too and never have to struggle with their weight like I have. In common with many large people, I have gained and lost weight many times over the years. This time, I want to lose it and maintain a healthy low weight. I am interested in eating food that is nutrient dense and delicious and that appeals to children and adults. I do not eat animal products so follow a vegan diet. I try to use locally produced food supplemented with what I can grow myself. I support and try to use local farmers markets and farm shops. Another objective is to add more exercise to our days. It sounds so simple when I write it down :-)

It’s time for the Happy Dance Kitty to show up. Celebrate, Celebrate, Dance to the Music! Woohoo Zoe on the healthier eating, feeling better and trying to change your eating habits. I can’t say the stir-fry, especially with pork would do my taste buds and singing for breakfast. Congratulations on releasing 8 lbs for your valiant effort to get back on tract to where you were before. Congratulations on getting back up and trying again.

    • Thank you Laura, as always for your support. An essential part of my motivation is tracking the weigjt loss. I now go to the local sports centre where they have electronic scales. They broke in Nov and I was so demotivated an I completely over ate! Ridiculous . I plan to go there every Tuesday and weigh in.

Zoe, that is what I put basically on the cover page of the changed Mile A Day in 2013 to https://www.facebook.com/MADMile4Health. “Accountability Loves Support”. Weighing in and becoming accountable is a huge motivator. You can do this Zoe. Just keep focusing on how much better you feel mentally and physically. It affects everything you do in life.
        Hugs across the miles.
