Container Gardening

Today was a bleurgh day.  I felt really tired all day and struggled to stay off the sugar.  I did it but it was tough and instead of sugar I had too much bread.  So I still feel bleurgh.  But on the upside I saw a beautiful sunrise, found somewhere new to wander round at lunch time and one of my favourite colleagues is back after a break.

I made this the night before so it was ready to pop in to my work bag; oats, natural yogurt, some blueberries, Tahini and almonds.  Not much of anything but a really tasty combination.breakfast 9-10-13

Sunrise this morning was delicate pinks and blues framed by a very dramatic black cloud.sunrise 9-10 It became very red and orange but I was on the train by then so couldn’t photograph its beauty but it was stunning.Sunrise 9-10-13 At lunchtime my namesake colleague took me to the base of the OXO Tower where there are lots of really cute shops.Shops under Oxo Plus gorgeous views of London.River Thaames OXO Tower Behind the OXO Tower is also beautiful in a very different way.under oxo Zoe at Southbank boat in building Look at this garden.gardein in container It has a little stream in it.container gardening 2 And it is made inside a container.  That is what you call container gardening!garden in container We went to EAT and I chose in a rush.  A Marmite and cheese toasted on sandwich which was on white bread which I don’t like much plus it has very little to commend it.  Plus an EAT salad which had honey in the dressing so I couldn’t eat it which made the salad dry.  Also, it had dried Cranberries in it so it was a fiddle picking them out.  So that was disappointing.EAT toastie and salad This view wasn’t though 🙂London 9-10-13 2 London 9-10-13

In the afternoon I had a bag of Bombay Mix and for supper I had wine with bread and cheese, bread and Vegemite and another slice with ham on it.Bread and wine

So I still feel bleurgh but an early night and very healthy food tomorrow should sort me out.

About Lose Weight and Gain Health

Hi! My name is Zoe and I live in Hastings, East Sussex, with my son Harvey and dog, Milton. I have been fighting the fat for years but this time I am serious. I want to lose weight and gain health. This blog is about how I am changing my lifestyle so I can lose weight but not by just "being on a diet" but by making small changes to our lives so that as I lose weight, I gain health. I want my family to be healthy too and never have to struggle with their weight like I have. In common with many large people, I have gained and lost weight many times over the years. This time, I want to lose it and maintain a healthy low weight. I am interested in eating food that is nutrient dense and delicious and that appeals to children and adults. I do not eat animal products so follow a vegan diet. I try to use locally produced food supplemented with what I can grow myself. I support and try to use local farmers markets and farm shops. Another objective is to add more exercise to our days. It sounds so simple when I write it down :-)

I love the photos you’ve shared. It is always wonderful to see another place through the eyes of someone who lives there. It’s much different than the usual touristy type of photos that I often see. Good luck with your sugar detox. I am going through a stage where I am constantly famished but I’m still eating. Go figure.
