A Blustery Day

A cold wind blew in today.  My goodness we seemed to have gone from summer to winter with nothing in between!

I was up slightly earlier than usual so I made a smoothie for breakfast which I took to work.  The quantity was very modest.  This is a small tupperware pot and is only about twice the size of a credit/debit card.

breakfast 10-10-13 2 I tried a banana and hoped it wouldn’t trigger a sugar craving.  It didn’t.  The banana was frozen and I mixed it with soya milk, Tahini and half an avocado.  It was delicious and kept me going until lunch time.  No sugar craving at all.breakfast 10-10-13 I made salad at home and took it in to work.  I added some olives stuffed with red pepper and Manchengo cheese.pimento olives Lots of baby salad leaves.salad greens Red cabbage, celery, tomatoes, spring onion and bacon.salad 10-10-10 2 I added a homemade dressing of olive oil, flax oil, white wine vinegar and salt.  I really enjoyed this salad as all the vegetables were fresh and flavoursome and the dressing was just right.salad 10-10-13I was hungry on the train so I bought a small bag of peanuts which did the trick and kept me going until supper.

About Lose Weight and Gain Health

Hi! My name is Zoe and I live in Hastings, East Sussex, with my son Harvey and dog, Milton. I have been fighting the fat for years but this time I am serious. I want to lose weight and gain health. This blog is about how I am changing my lifestyle so I can lose weight but not by just "being on a diet" but by making small changes to our lives so that as I lose weight, I gain health. I want my family to be healthy too and never have to struggle with their weight like I have. In common with many large people, I have gained and lost weight many times over the years. This time, I want to lose it and maintain a healthy low weight. I am interested in eating food that is nutrient dense and delicious and that appeals to children and adults. I do not eat animal products so follow a vegan diet. I try to use locally produced food supplemented with what I can grow myself. I support and try to use local farmers markets and farm shops. Another objective is to add more exercise to our days. It sounds so simple when I write it down :-)
