Hubby Birthday

Happy birthday Mr Bennett.

I had to go in early again today and did not manage to make breakfast at home so I ducked in to Pret by the office and bought a latte with a ham and egg sandwich.

Today is market day – yay.  I only had 20 minutes so I rushed to Turnip for a salad.

Look at these gorgeous micro greens.

I wanted tomatoes but there was no time.

I did get sidetracked by a cheese covered pretzel.

Yes, there really was a pretzel under there.  It was good.  And it only cost £1.

But not as amazing as the salad which was just as fresh and delicious as I was hoping.

After a dreadful journey home, thanks to a lightning strike that knocked out the signals in Grove Park and Chislehurst plus a train that broke down just outside London Bridge, we made it home nearly an hour later then planned and headed out for dinner.  James always chooses a curry when he selects the restaurant.

The beauties

and the beasts 🙂 .  Only joking boys, you’re gorgeous too.

Tonight we went to The Spice Lounge in Coxheath.  We started with poppadoms and accompaniments.  These were excellent.

Followed by “chicken roll’ which was mediocre.

Then a plate of mixed tandoori lamb and chicken, sag paneer (spinach with cheese) and Bombay potatoes with some naan bread.

Finished off with an Irish coffee.

All very tasty but I am toooo full up.  Happy birthday hubby.

About Lose Weight and Gain Health

Hi! My name is Zoe and I live in Hastings, East Sussex, with my son Harvey and dog, Milton. I have been fighting the fat for years but this time I am serious. I want to lose weight and gain health. This blog is about how I am changing my lifestyle so I can lose weight but not by just "being on a diet" but by making small changes to our lives so that as I lose weight, I gain health. I want my family to be healthy too and never have to struggle with their weight like I have. In common with many large people, I have gained and lost weight many times over the years. This time, I want to lose it and maintain a healthy low weight. I am interested in eating food that is nutrient dense and delicious and that appeals to children and adults. I do not eat animal products so follow a vegan diet. I try to use locally produced food supplemented with what I can grow myself. I support and try to use local farmers markets and farm shops. Another objective is to add more exercise to our days. It sounds so simple when I write it down :-)

Zoe you are looking uber gorgeous in your photos these days. I am so happy that you are achieving a goal you have worked so hard for over the past few months. You have even headed back into the rat race and not succumbed to your weaknesses which is valiant. Go girl, just wish we were off to our lovely Turkish holiday again this year for you to enjoy as a prize for your brilliant achievement.

Happy Belated Birthday to James. His Birthday is the same day as my Cousin’s who I am doing the Walk For MS on Sunday for. She turned 60 years young yesterday. Dinner looked great and so did your lunch salad. I agree with Sally with how gorgeous you are looking Zöe! Great work on all counts.
