Headhunter

I had something different for breakfast today.

From Pret, one of my favourite coffee shops because their produce is fresh and the milk and coffee is organic, I had a Bircher Muesli with apple grated in it, pomegranate, pistachios and dried fruit with a skinny latte.  The bircher muesli with toppings was delicious.

I managed to miss the rain when I popped out at lunch time and I found a new smoothie bar in the market.

I chose the Exotica – mine’s the one with the pink straw.

Apparently it will help my digestion, immune system and cell regeneration.  It tasted really good too 🙂

Then I found the wonderful Arabica Food and Spice Company which I have never seen before and will definitely want to be seeing again!  I didn’t have one of these aubergine kibeh’s but next time I will as they sound great.

I went for the mixed salad bar and chose smoked aubergine, cherry tomato and cheese with thyme and tabbouleh.

It was served with a flat bread and I ate it at my desk.  It was absolutely delicious and I will definitely be going back there.

Supper was a disaster.  Loads of rubbishy snacks for which I am disgusted with myself.  I have eaten way too much this week and it has not all been healthy.  I left work much later then I wanted to.  I snacked on the train and then rushed to the cinema where I had a very large glass of red wine with a bag of chocolates.

The film was great – Headhunter.  Based on the Jo Nesbo book which I read recently.  I enjoyed the book and was looking forward to the film which didn’t disappoint.  It made me jump, made me laugh and kept me interested all the way though.  So the eating was dreadful this evening but Headhunter was fun.

About Lose Weight and Gain Health

Hi! My name is Zoe and I live in Hastings, East Sussex, with my son Harvey and dog, Milton. I have been fighting the fat for years but this time I am serious. I want to lose weight and gain health. This blog is about how I am changing my lifestyle so I can lose weight but not by just "being on a diet" but by making small changes to our lives so that as I lose weight, I gain health. I want my family to be healthy too and never have to struggle with their weight like I have. In common with many large people, I have gained and lost weight many times over the years. This time, I want to lose it and maintain a healthy low weight. I am interested in eating food that is nutrient dense and delicious and that appeals to children and adults. I do not eat animal products so follow a vegan diet. I try to use locally produced food supplemented with what I can grow myself. I support and try to use local farmers markets and farm shops. Another objective is to add more exercise to our days. It sounds so simple when I write it down :-)
