Walking from St.Leonard’s to Bexhill

Lara was at home this weekend (yippee) and we had hoped for a beach day on Saturday.  The weather was not fine enough to laze around on the beach so instead we headed to the coast anyway and walked from St.Leonard’s to Bexhill.  I had wanted to continue the walk we did on Monday all the way to Bexhill but there was not enough time then but today there was.

The weather was ominous but we set off anyway and hoped for the best.P1070111Regular readers may remember I was surprised to see some astro turf and a little picket fence beside the beach when I walked past here on Monday; all was revealed as being part of a cafe where you could sit on the bench or in a deckchair and enjoy the sea views.  Too soon for a coffee for us so we kept going.P1070110I really like this walk.P1070112So many charming beach huts.P1070113Looking back towards St.Leonard’s.P1070114P1070116This statue marks the spot of a cafe and this time we were ready for a coffee.P1070117Or an ice-cream for some.P1070119Onwards to Bexhill.

I love, love, love coastal scenery.

P1070125P1070126This walk really is delightful.  It’s a very easy walk with a path the entire way.P1070127It didn’t seem to take long before we were at Bexhill.  I could have walked much further as I was enjoying it so much.P1070132We beat the rain too so that was lucky.P1070134Harvey and I had enjoyed Rocksalt-On-Sea so much last Friday we took Lara there and had another good meal.  They were very helpful to me and instead of having the linguine in a creamy sauce, they made it for me vegan style and it was delicious.  I fancied a bowl of pasta after a good walk.P1070135We caught the train back to St.Leonard’s where it was raining quite hard so instead of going to the Hastings carnival we headed home, via the Kino in Hawkhurst where we watched the BFG.  It was brilliant and we all enjoyed it very much.P1070139P1070140Today we went to visit my Dad and Step-Mother and they took us out to a Chinese restaurant which was excellent.  I had vegetable spring rolls followed by aubergine in black bean sauce, with stir fried broccoli and pak choi in garlic and rice.  It was all delicious and the company was perfect.  Thanks Dad for a very enjoyable lunch.P1070142So another weekend comes to an end.  I did very well with the exercise but not so well with the eating, particularly the too many delicious snacks at Judy’s on Friday night, the chocolate in the cinema or the crisps and Prosecco at home with Lara on Saturday night.  But I enjoyed myself hugely which was important.  I will eat better this week and maintain the regular walking.

About Lose Weight and Gain Health

Hi! My name is Zoe and I live in Hastings, East Sussex, with my son Harvey and dog, Milton. I have been fighting the fat for years but this time I am serious. I want to lose weight and gain health. This blog is about how I am changing my lifestyle so I can lose weight but not by just "being on a diet" but by making small changes to our lives so that as I lose weight, I gain health. I want my family to be healthy too and never have to struggle with their weight like I have. In common with many large people, I have gained and lost weight many times over the years. This time, I want to lose it and maintain a healthy low weight. I am interested in eating food that is nutrient dense and delicious and that appeals to children and adults. I do not eat animal products so follow a vegan diet. I try to use locally produced food supplemented with what I can grow myself. I support and try to use local farmers markets and farm shops. Another objective is to add more exercise to our days. It sounds so simple when I write it down :-)
