This Easter has been happily spent with some of my family. It will be remembered for Storm Katie which created some very memorable beach scenes and damage to the woods and trees around me.
Anticipating a day of over eating, I began with a smoothie made with coconut water, coconut yogurt, blackberries, blueberries. spirulina and some fresh blueberries.
I went to my sister Abi’s for lunch with Lara and Harvey.
While Jim cooked lunch for us all, we went for a walk along Seaford beach.
The waves were incredible.
It was very exciting and exhilarating watching the waves smash on to the beach.
I could have stayed there for hours but it was time for lunch and quite chilly standing out there.
No meat for me for lunch; instead I enjoyed rice, a chick pe and spinach curry and some little vegan burgers.
Enjoyed with broccoli and green beans. I also drank vast amounts of prosecco and wine and nibbled on grapes and crackers.
I had a very bad nights sleep thanks to the noise of Storm Katie so today was very lazy and leisurely. I had a late breakfast of tea and toast and then had more toast at lunch time with a soup I made; leek and sweet potato which was very good, even if I do say so myself.
My daffodils and some of the magnolia petals survived the storm.
This tree didn’t though.
The whole tree was not uprooted but it snapped in to two, about half way down its length. Luckily it did not damage my fence.
I was going to have a very lazy day and sit inside reading and relaxing but I felt guilty and did take Milton for a walk over the road in the woods.
It must have really rained as the water levels were very high.
Some trees were down but not many.
I was glad to have fitted in a walk as it was beautiful outside today.
I had a lovely Easter weekend, at my sister Abi’s or at home. I hope you did too.

About Lose Weight and Gain Health
Hi! My name is Zoe and I live in Hastings, East Sussex, with my son Harvey and dog, Milton. I have been fighting the fat for years but this time I am serious. I want to lose weight and gain health.
This blog is about how I am changing my lifestyle so I can lose weight but not by just "being on a diet" but by making small changes to our lives so that as I lose weight, I gain health. I want my family to be healthy too and never have to struggle with their weight like I have. In common with many large people, I have gained and lost weight many times over the years. This time, I want to lose it and maintain a healthy low weight.
I am interested in eating food that is nutrient dense and delicious and that appeals to children and adults. I do not eat animal products so follow a vegan diet. I try to use locally produced food supplemented with what I can grow myself. I support and try to use local farmers markets and farm shops. Another objective is to add more exercise to our days. It sounds so simple when I write it down :-)
