Fast Day 3

I feel rather pleased with myself that I have completed another fast day.  This was the third one in 6 days and the easiest.  The book does say they get easier as your body gets used to not eating and they were correct.  I did it differently today because I ate nothing all day and saved the 500 calories for supper.  I think this works best for me and will try that next time too, which will be Thursday.

I checked my blog and I followed the Fast Diet 3 years ago and found it quite easy then too.  But I only did it for about 3 weeks and stopped, but didn’t explain why.  Hmmmm, curious.  Assuming this does help with weight loss, it is quite an easy way to diet and psychologically, knowing you only have to get through today but can have what you want tomorrow, is so much easier.

I drank lots of water today (2 litres) with lemon and mint in it plus a couple of black teas.  I had no time to go for a walk at lunch time but I did manage to pop round the corner to Monmouth Coffee.  It was sunny on London and cool so perfect walking weather so I was annoyed about not having time to get out for longer.

water and Monmouth This is a long black, which is not very long but so so so very good.Monmouth coffee black For supper I made a lovely lentil salad which Rebecca posted.  Dinner 14-3-16 3 Well, kind of.  I will make Rebecca’s complete recipe tomorrow but I didn’t have enough calories for the avocado and sundered tomatoes today.  Tomorrow I will though as I can have what I like.Dinner 14-3-16 2 This is green lentils, dressed with lemon juice and olive oil, with tomatoes, celery and red onion.  Absolutely delicious.Dinner 14-3-16 1

Today’s Calorie Count = 493

  • 3 sticks celery – 19
  • Lemon juice  – 12
  • 2 medium tomatoes – 21
  • 100 g (dry weight) green lentils – 310
  • 1 tbsp olive oil – 119
  • 1 small red onion – 12

At the time of writing, which is the end of the day, I have only walked 7,743 sets today which is disappointing but can not helped.  I have a poorly boy at home who wants me sitting with him so I couldn’t go out after work.  I will try and walk more tomorrow.

I feel pleased with myself for completing another fast day and getting back in to the zone of losing weight (hopefully – fingers crossed for Friday !).

About Lose Weight and Gain Health

Hi! My name is Zoe and I live in Hastings, East Sussex, with my son Harvey and dog, Milton. I have been fighting the fat for years but this time I am serious. I want to lose weight and gain health. This blog is about how I am changing my lifestyle so I can lose weight but not by just "being on a diet" but by making small changes to our lives so that as I lose weight, I gain health. I want my family to be healthy too and never have to struggle with their weight like I have. In common with many large people, I have gained and lost weight many times over the years. This time, I want to lose it and maintain a healthy low weight. I am interested in eating food that is nutrient dense and delicious and that appeals to children and adults. I do not eat animal products so follow a vegan diet. I try to use locally produced food supplemented with what I can grow myself. I support and try to use local farmers markets and farm shops. Another objective is to add more exercise to our days. It sounds so simple when I write it down :-)
