I have had a fun and busy and not the best eating couple of days! Friday weigh day was a no change result which I was partly relieved about as I did minimal exercise last week and ate too much on some days. Weighing the same is better than a gain!
Yesterday I played tennis for the first time in about 9 months and loved it. I had got my timings wrong and ended up with 5 minutes to make breakfast before I went so I made a very quick smoothie with 2 frozen bananas, pineapple and a persimmon. No time to add anything else. It tasted good and provided energy for the tennis but not long after.
Lunch was a very quick and easy bowl of pasta.
I made a very simple sauce with mushrooms and tomatoes and served it with pea shoots and cucumber.
Unfortunately I had a bit of a Nutella and toast-fest in the late afternoon. I blame a bad night’s sleep, an unfortunate incident with some laundry detergent that was actually washing up liquid and poor meal planning. Harvey decided that to
help me protect his jar of Nutella, he would hide it in his room – that works for me!
We woke up this morning to a very unexpected flurry of huge snow flakes. I hadn’t seen it forecast so was really surprised. I was anxious too because I was expecting my fab friend BJ to be arriving from Leicestershire and didn’t want snow to stop play. Luckily it didn’t and he arrived safely and on time.
I have mentioned this before and I am going to mention it again. If you like chilled water, keep a jug in the fridge with some fruit and veggies in it to make it really refreshing. This blend, of lemon peel, an orange and some cucumber is excellent.
Breakfast today was a really delicious smoothie made with 2 frozen bananas, 2 fresh persimmons, blue algae, coconut water, lucuma, acai and mixed nut butter.
Topped with cacao nibs. This was one of the tastiest I have had.
We then headed off to Andrew and Alison’s for a Chinese with my sister Abi and her family to celebrate Chinese New Year.
We snacked on some rice crackers brought back from a recent trip to Singapore. I didn’t eat any that obviously had prawns in but I can not vouch for the vegan or even vegetarian suitability of the crackers. I also had far too many crisps, wine and pink bubbles.
I was saved from complete ruin because I was driving home. I have just noticed my reflection in the picture 🙂
We did have a lovely day, eating, drinking, chatting and laughing.
We didn’t eat until about 4:30 by which time I was so hungry I ate far too many vegetable spring rolls. I also had a large bowl full of rice and vegetable curry.
I completed my over eating with a portion of Andrew’s home made sticky toffee pudding which was so good it was actually worth every calorie. It was a small portion with no cream. I will go to bed dreaming about that perfect pudding tonight.
I am going to have to be ultra good again from tomorrow. It is one of the situations I find the hardest to eat well in; everyone around me is tucking in to food and drink I am trying to avoid and there were no fruit and vegetable alternatives. I really enjoyed myself but do feel very uncomfortable now as I ate far too much but it was a great day. Thank you to BJ for visiting and to Alison and Andrew for having us all over.
