A Reasonable Start

I made a reasonable start to my Slimming World campaign – I lost 4 pounds this week.  I was pleased with that, especially after the pizza and wine last Thursday and the almond cake I ate last night and white chocolate I had today!!  I had been really good the rest of the time though.

I went tropical for breakfast.tropical fruit I brought in from home a pot of chopped mango, papaya and passionfruit topped with coconut yogurt.tropical fruit salad 2 It was delicious.tropical fruit salad 21-10 I also took a salad in from home.salad 21-10-14 2 Quinoa, chickpeas, celery, red and yellow tomatoes, cucumber, sugar snap peas, watermelon and a variety of leaves.  I am getting used to salad without a dressing to save calories but it was a bit boring.salad 21-10-14 So I bought some flavourful chicken to add.M&S chicken tikka This was very good actually, well flavoured.chicken tikka As a little treat to myself for losing weigh, I loved every mouthful of a raspberry and banana ice-cream.raspberry nana ice-cream Made with 1/4 of an avocado, 2 frozen bananas, frozen raspberries, 2 passion fruits, 1 heaped tbsp cashew nut butter and some almond milk to loosen it.  It was divine.raspberry nana ice cream

About Lose Weight and Gain Health

Hi! My name is Zoe and I live in Hastings, East Sussex, with my son Harvey and dog, Milton. I have been fighting the fat for years but this time I am serious. I want to lose weight and gain health. This blog is about how I am changing my lifestyle so I can lose weight but not by just "being on a diet" but by making small changes to our lives so that as I lose weight, I gain health. I want my family to be healthy too and never have to struggle with their weight like I have. In common with many large people, I have gained and lost weight many times over the years. This time, I want to lose it and maintain a healthy low weight. I am interested in eating food that is nutrient dense and delicious and that appeals to children and adults. I do not eat animal products so follow a vegan diet. I try to use locally produced food supplemented with what I can grow myself. I support and try to use local farmers markets and farm shops. Another objective is to add more exercise to our days. It sounds so simple when I write it down :-)
