Front Room

Today was the last day of the school summer holiday and we decided to make the most of it.  The day started sunny and bright and I had a couple of very enjoyable hours in the garden.  When I came in I had picked all the raspberries and blueberries I could find for breakfast.

This is what we made and it was completely gorgeous.breakfast ice-cream 1-9 The bottom layer was fresh apricot blended with frozen bananas which is a wonderful combination and one I highly recommend.  In the middle was half a fresh peach.  The top layer was raspberries, blueberries and frozen banana topped with Goji berries and cashews.  It was full of fruit and just lovely and we both enjoyed it very much.breakfast smoothie 1-9After breakfast we hopped in to the car and drove off to spend the day with my sister Abi at her home in Seaford.

FR cappuchino I had the daily special which was chicken and chorizo croquettes with salad.  FR croquettes 2 The croquettes and salad were really good.  My only feedback would be that there was too much mayonnaise.FR croquettes It was a very relaxed and enjoyable lunch time.H and M in FR I liked the decor and vibe in the cafe and enjoyed having the window table.H and Katie The Front Room was an excellent recommendation Abi 🙂Z and A in FR If only I had just ended with the latte !Front Room latte Instead I ended with this but it was so good it was actually worth every single disasterously naughty calorie.salt caramel and brownie A dense, moist and chewy brownie topped with salted caramel ice-cream.  Puddings don’t get much better than that!brownie and ice-cream

Since my very substantial lunch, I have only had cups of tea and glasses of water as I am still digesting that dessert!

About Lose Weight and Gain Health

Hi! My name is Zoe and I live in Hastings, East Sussex, with my son Harvey and dog, Milton. I have been fighting the fat for years but this time I am serious. I want to lose weight and gain health. This blog is about how I am changing my lifestyle so I can lose weight but not by just "being on a diet" but by making small changes to our lives so that as I lose weight, I gain health. I want my family to be healthy too and never have to struggle with their weight like I have. In common with many large people, I have gained and lost weight many times over the years. I do not eat animal products so follow a vegan diet. I try to use locally produced food supplemented with what I can grow myself. I support and try to use local farmers markets and farm shops. Another objective is to add more exercise to our days. It sounds so simple when I write it down :-)
