Today was the last day of the school summer holiday and we decided to make the most of it. The day started sunny and bright and I had a couple of very enjoyable hours in the garden. When I came in I had picked all the raspberries and blueberries I could find for breakfast.
This is what we made and it was completely gorgeous. The bottom layer was fresh apricot blended with frozen bananas which is a wonderful combination and one I highly recommend. In the middle was half a fresh peach. The top layer was raspberries, blueberries and frozen banana topped with Goji berries and cashews. It was full of fruit and just lovely and we both enjoyed it very much.
After breakfast we hopped in to the car and drove off to spend the day with my sister Abi at her home in Seaford.
We walked round the corner to a lovely cafe; Front Room.
It was lovely.
A much needed coffee to start with while we read the menu.
I had the daily special which was chicken and chorizo croquettes with salad.
The croquettes and salad were really good. My only feedback would be that there was too much mayonnaise.
It was a very relaxed and enjoyable lunch time.
I liked the decor and vibe in the cafe and enjoyed having the window table.
The Front Room was an excellent recommendation Abi 🙂
If only I had just ended with the latte !
Instead I ended with this but it was so good it was actually worth every single disasterously naughty calorie.
A dense, moist and chewy brownie topped with salted caramel ice-cream. Puddings don’t get much better than that!
Since my very substantial lunch, I have only had cups of tea and glasses of water as I am still digesting that dessert!
You had me at salted caramel ice cream….. lol
