I Ate A Big Mac

I ate a Big Mac today, I really did and it was amazing.

For breakfast I went to Pure and had a small bottle of ‘Get Vit’ smoothie and a portion of porridge with seeds on top.  The Get Vit contains Kiwi, spinach, apple, pear and lime.  It is delicious and is promoted as being banana free so I chose it because it was green and contained spinach and because I hoped it would be low sugar.  It actually contains 4 teaspoons of sugar per small bottle (250ml) so not that low after all!

Calorie count; Get Vit (86) + porridge (277) + Honey (115) + seeds (494).  I am amazed at the calories in the seeds.Pure Get Vit and porridge

I went back to Pure for lunch too because it is close to the office and they sell a great range of salads.   I chose the Big Mack !

Pure Big Mack It was awesome!  I am definitely having that again although it does have a high calorie count – 778 (when eaten with the dressing like I did).  I would have saved 200 calories if I had not eaten the dressing.Big Mack Salad At home for supper I picked 4 types of salad leaves from the garden.leaves from garden Which I ate with roasted vegetables, Feta cheese and some grapes.Dinner 24-6-14

So a healthy day in terms of lots of vegetables and oily fish with no flour products or added sugar.  But surprisingly high in calories.  I should leave out the juice and salad dressing.

About Lose Weight and Gain Health

Hi! My name is Zoe and I live in Hastings, East Sussex, with my son Harvey and dog, Milton. I have been fighting the fat for years but this time I am serious. I want to lose weight and gain health. This blog is about how I am changing my lifestyle so I can lose weight but not by just "being on a diet" but by making small changes to our lives so that as I lose weight, I gain health. I want my family to be healthy too and never have to struggle with their weight like I have. In common with many large people, I have gained and lost weight many times over the years. This time, I want to lose it and maintain a healthy low weight. I am interested in eating food that is nutrient dense and delicious and that appeals to children and adults. I do not eat animal products so follow a vegan diet. I try to use locally produced food supplemented with what I can grow myself. I support and try to use local farmers markets and farm shops. Another objective is to add more exercise to our days. It sounds so simple when I write it down :-)
