A Day In Boxes

I realised today that everything I ate and drank came in a box or container!

I really needed a coffee this morning and there is only one place to go for one of those!  Perfect.Monmouth 5-6-14 I then had two mugs of hot water, one with lemon and one with mint.lemon and mint Mid-morning I had a banana berry crunch smoothie which I made first thing at home.  So good.  This is the smoothie I blogged about a few days ago and is made with freshly squeezed apple juice, berries, banana, natural yogurt and some seeds.Berry banana crunch I went for a walk at lunch time to Wholefoods Store at Piccadilly Circus to grab another one of their lovely buffet salads.  Walking back to the office my eye was drawn by the trail of little lights in the pavement and I followed them to see what was in the sunshine.lights in pavement This little courtyard with a very unusual sculpture and a tree with seating underneath.  I was thinking I could go and sit there and enjoy eating lunch in the fresh air.  However, when I got there I saw why no one else was siting there.  Clearly, lots of birds enjoy sitting in that tree!tree and seat So I gave up and returned to work so as usual lunch was eaten in the office.  This was such a yummy salad, eaten out of the recycled cardboard box it came in.  I was feeling very hungry so I had a lot of protein; salmon, tuna mayonnaise, egg mayonnaise, black beans, pecan nuts, seeds and Goat’s cheese.  I know that is a long list but it was only a small spoonful of each one.

I am working from home tomorrow so I may manage to be more civilised and perhaps eat from some china!

About Lose Weight and Gain Health

Hi! My name is Zoe and I live in a small village in the beautiful Weald of Kent with my husband and 2 children. I have been fighting the fat for years but this time I am serious. I want to lose weight and gain health. This blog is about how I am changing my lifestyle so I can lose weight but not by just "being on a diet" but by making small changes to our lives so that as I lose weight, I gain health. I want my family to be healthy too and never have to struggle with their weight like I have. In common with many large people, I have gained and lost weight many times over the years. This time, I want to lose it and maintain a healthy low weight. I am interested in eating food that is nutrient dense and delicious and that appeals to children and adults. I try to use locally produced food supplemented with what I can grow myself. I support and try to use local farmers markets and farm shops. After all, I live in the 'Garden of England' so it seems silly to not take advantage of that. Another objective is to add more exercise to our days. It sounds so simple when I write it down :-)
