I do like having lots of kale and chard in the garden and they seem to be there all year round which is even better.
I will cut the flowers off the kale this weekend but I have enjoyed having them recently as they provide a welcome splash of colour. This morning I picked a handful of these leaves
and rainbow chard.
The chard must be the most attractive plant in the garden but I actually prefer the flavour of spinach.
I do enjoy this though.
I made a cheese omelette for breakfast with a large serving of onions, kale and chard.
It was delicious. Really good and I enjoyed every mouthful.
I was stupidly busy again today at work and had no time for lunch, not even time to eat an apple and some nuts as I was racing against the clock all day.
So when I bought Harvey his Friday night fish supper I had one too. This has not been a good week for me and I put on 3 pounds, which is nearly everything I lost last week. Very frustrating.
But to end on a very positive note, I was delighted to see Hartley Dyke Farm Shop lives on. It is one of my favourite local shops and I go there every week so I am pleased for all the staff in there who work so hard and for all the local producers they help support.
Have a good weekend.
Happy Dancing the market won over the more construction.
I am so relieved. It is a lovely shop, doing well and has been for 10 years but the landlord would not renew the lease. Such a shame but now I am glad they are moving nearby
