I have eaten some superbly healthy food which was much needed after a disaster yesterday.
I exited my usual station from a different exit and discovered this charming little area and unfortunately a Konditor & Cook which I know well from Borough Market. I managed to walk past in the morning but was lured back for lunch. This little area of terraced houses is totally residential. It was like a little village amongst the train lines and tall modern buildings. I really liked it.
Really lovely.
This image was stuck in my mind during a stressful morning so I walked back at lunch time.
I had a healthy lunch of baked salmon with 3 delicious salads. But then a cake binge. I wish I didn’t do that but I do. I do at least have them far less often but sometimes it still happens. The rest of the day was an eating disaster.
So I awoke today determined to be very good. Very good indeed. I started with a lovely bowl of egg fried brown Basmati rice with onions and lots of kale. Plus some sprouts.
405 calories. I worked from home and spent 40 minutes walking in the woods. I walked as fast as I could, muddy and slippery areas permitting.
I chose to have an ultra healthy lunch. I wanted to have a huge bowl of raw veggies and so I made a simple French Dressing to go with it.
More sprouts for lunch. They are supposed to be one of the best foods you can eat as they are packed full of vitamins (especially B, C, E and A), protein and enzymes. They are easy to digest too.
I love the words on the front of this packet; “these sprouts are grown with the conscious awareness of the interconnectedness of everything and all life.” I had a huge bowl of mixed leaves with 2 celery sticks, a large tomato and a pile of mixed sprouts.
The sprouts taste quite peppery which I like but I can see why they are not to everyone’s taste.
With the dressing this was very tasty. It did take a lot of chewing to get through.
170 very healthy calories, which includes the dressing. Dinner was a small portion of chilli beef with lots of carrots and celery cooked with it on top of quarter of a mashed butternut squash. My meals, apart from large bowlfuls of raw veggies, have become so much smaller which is really good.
397 calories. I had so many calories left I had a Co Yo with mixed berries.
Delicious.
387 calories.I finished the day 5 calories over my allowance. I am really pleased I had such a healthy breakfast and lunch. Dinner was not junk food and did have lots of veggies in it but I wouldn’t call it healthy to have 125 g red meat. Good protein though.
Mainly I am delighted I was straight back on the diet after yesterday’s blow out. I can do this.
Great comeback today Zoe!
