My social life lately has been just like waiting for a bus – nothing for ages and then 4 come along at once!
London has been bathed in sunshine this week which means when you go out in the evening you can be outside. I had a very merry evening on Wednesday at Heel Tap in Southwark, which is tucked away down a little side street off Borough High St. It has a lovely big courtyard which was the perfect location for some summer drinks.
I managed to not overdo the drinking and ate very well on Wednesday.
Thursday morning I woke up hungry as I had not had supper the previous evening. I made an old favourite to take to work; 1/2 cup of oats with 1 tbsp chia seeds and a few almonds as I was very hungry.
Topped with coconut milk and loads of blueberries.
Taken to work and eaten at my desk. I was at my desk just after 6:30 as I have a ridiculously busy work schedule right now.
I did get out and enjoy the summer sun. I had a meeting in another office and really enjoyed the walk back. I walk through the Barbican which and this residential area has huge areas to sit outside in.
Plus lots of falling water which sounded delightful.
This part of London still contains some of the old London Wall. I really fancied sitting in this pretty walled garden and relaxing for a bit but no time for that today.
Here is another part of the old wall.
I had a mixed lunch in Borough Market which did include a green juice but also chocolate! The main part of lunch was a pulled pork and coleslaw pot from Eat which is delicious.
In the evening I joined Suzanne and some of the lovely local ladies for a birthday celebration at The George in Cranbrook. I had a tuna nicoise salad which was lovely. I was really craving some protein and that hit the spot perfectly.Looking lovely ladies 🙂
You all look lovely too, you unhealthy fish and chip eating bunch! I was at the healthy salad eating end of the table 🙂
I did have a cheese board for dessert. It has been ages since I had some cheese and this was lovely. Not too much but a decent assortment with good variety. The walnuts and apricot chutney went really well with it.
So there we have a brief summary of 2 hectic days at work and 2 fun evenings out. Today is looking to be the same pattern!
Your photography always is breathtaking. You always have something to fall back on should you want a career change. Everything is always so clear and crisp it is like you can reach out and eat it or touch it or hug it!
Thank you Laura, you are very kind. I am lucky I work in such an amazing city where everywhere you look there are interesting things to photograph.
