Little Catch Up

Another busy few days with not enough time to blog so here’s a quick catch up.

I spent yesterday in the office near Borough Market and decided to sit and enjoy a Monmouth coffee before getting started with the working day.  I was in the City by 7:30am so I had plenty of time.

Since the weekend I have continued eating things I shouldn’t, such as this wonderful almond croissant to go with my coffee.  A heavenly but naughty combination.coffee and croissant Monmouth finished

When I was chatting to my lovely nephew at the weekend, he was telling me about the Shakespeare plays his Grandma takes him to and how he prefers the comedies to the tragedies.  I was astonished a 12 year old enjoyed Shakespeare and realised I hadn’t seen a quality play for a long time.  So at lunch time I braved the bitterly cold weather and strolled along beside the Thames.  My goodness it was cold!Freezing cold London

Destination was the Globe which is only a few buildings from my office.  Lara and Harvey are coming up to London so I decided to get some tickets for something.  Unfortunately they don’t open until the 23rd April.  I think Lara considers she had a lucky escape 🙂

Undeterred I kept going to The National but unfortunately there was nothing appropriate   on.  I am quite intrigued by this red structure though – The Shed which is a temporary structure for performances so I will book something up to watch inside. The Shed

I was so cold I really enjoyed the BLT bagel and tomato soup I ate at my desk.BLT Bagel and tomato soup

In the evening I was taken out for drinks by the team I have enjoyed working with so much during the last 2 months.  I chose to go to the bar at the Citizen M hotel on Bankside.  It has a huge bar area with lots of relaxing spaces to sit.  We sat here and had a wonderful evening with lots of laughing. I will miss that team and all the banter.  sofa in Citizen M bar

I started today well with a pod breakfast of eggs with spinach and avocado.pod omega egg

The rest of the day was a disaster in terms of eating which I am going to move swiftly on from.  I had a very light supper of a green smoothie made with spinach, a pear, kiwi fruit, natural yogurt and sour cherry juice.green bits for smoothie

About Lose Weight and Gain Health

Hi! My name is Zoe and I live in Hastings, East Sussex, with my son Harvey and dog, Milton. I have been fighting the fat for years but this time I am serious. I want to lose weight and gain health. This blog is about how I am changing my lifestyle so I can lose weight but not by just "being on a diet" but by making small changes to our lives so that as I lose weight, I gain health. I want my family to be healthy too and never have to struggle with their weight like I have. In common with many large people, I have gained and lost weight many times over the years. This time, I want to lose it and maintain a healthy low weight. I am interested in eating food that is nutrient dense and delicious and that appeals to children and adults. I do not eat animal products so follow a vegan diet. I try to use locally produced food supplemented with what I can grow myself. I support and try to use local farmers markets and farm shops. Another objective is to add more exercise to our days. It sounds so simple when I write it down :-)
