I was not in the mood for food at all today which is very unusual. For breakfast I had muesli with some extra oats, soya milk and Natural yogurt. For lunch, I had exactly the same! Plus 1 tbsp of honey. I did track points today and my cereal consumption (i.e. breakfast and lunch) was 24 points as lunch was a large bowlful. Supper was even less exciting. So boring in fact I didn’t even bother with a photo. I had a mashed butternut squash with 20 g butter, lots of black pepper and 175 g 1.5% fat cottage cheese. 7 points.
Winter is definitely here. I love the winter landscapes and the pastel hues of the early morning. Unfortunately I was very busy today at work and didn’t manage to get outside for my walk until 3pm. By then it was still very cold and calm and quiet.
So much that is usually vibrant and growing was frozen, still, surrendered to the cold and frosts.
I do not recall seeing such large ice crystals as these,
which are on a little waterfall.
Each and every frond of the ferns here is frozen, so beautiful, glistening in the pale afternoon sun.
Here an orange beam of the setting sun reaches across the frozen landscape.
All is quiet and peaceful apart from the crunching of my footsteps.I am fearful for the weekend. Snow is forecast but we have a large party planned for a very special person’s 21st. It may be just us and all that food and drink!
