Yesterday was all about growing your own, eating vegetables and relaxing. Today I was back in the City, had few vegetables and worked hard.
These 2 are becoming a habit.
Peach today instead of cherry. I definitely prefer the cherry but this was good.
I didn’t get out for lunch until nearly 3pm. I always get in to work early and spend an hour dealing with emails, eating breakfast at my desk and planning my day. I then had a 4 hour workshop (with no “comfort break” which I think is bad form), straight in to a presentation I had to do and then a meeting. I sat down to eat my lunch at 2:57. I took half an hour to enjoy my chicken soup and ham and cheese toastie in the perfect temperature central London enjoyed today.
Back home I went straight to the garden to breathe some clean air and enjoy being at home. Listening to the birds, checking the vegetable beds for signs of growth and enjoying the heavenly scent of these beauties.
I love sweet peas and grew them up bamboo wigwams next to the vegetables so I can enjoy them while I work on the veggie beds. I also bring some inside 🙂
Last year my beetroots bolted but this year they have done brilliantly.
I am very pleased with them.
Last year I grew ‘Bull’s Blood’ = fail.
This year I grew ‘Boltadry’ = success.
I had to have that beetroot and berry smoothie again.
I forgot to add the dates at first and they make all the difference from it being OK to amazing. As a reminder, you need to blitz:
4 dates,
1 good sized or 3 small raw beetroots,
1 orange
1 punnett of raspberries or mixed berries
almond milk.
If you have a good blender – PLEASE MAKE THIS. IT IS FAB-U-LOUS.
So good. Love the colour. Love the taste.
