What a completely gorgeous Sunday!
It was sunny and so very warm it was hard to believe it’s the end of September. I spent a lot of time outside this morning, enjoying the late summer sunshine and flowers. There are still so many flowers blooming away.
Late summer flowers and autumnal leaves.
Apples in the trees, being enjoyed and plenty more to come.
Far fewer pears but still some there.
Bright yellow pops of colour.
These sprung up and surprised me.
I have never previously been a dahlia fan but they flower prolifically and for many months so I am being persuaded. I like these ones best and also the pink and dark red ones.
The cucumbers are doing well, the tomatoes less so and the aubergine is a big and healthy plant but absolutely zero fruit!
Carrots are ready for pulling.
This trombetti is gigantic but I am keeping it going to see how big it will grow.
These ones are more manageable and quite delicious.
Leeks in progress.
My little cherub picked these for me this morning 🙂
I picked these for us for breakfast.
I blended all the raspberries with 2 tbsp peanut butter and then added 4 frozen bananas.
Served with blueberries, mango and a strawberry. Harvey and I loved these.
The giant sunflower has collapsed so I cut off its huge head for the birds to enjoy the seeds. I lay a 12 inch ruler against it so you can see the size.
Lots of seeds for the birds.
This sunflower is huge and very heavy.
I took my little ones to the george in rye for lunch. Thank you for the recommendation Jane, it was excellent.
Cheers!
Water and a beer to quench my thirst.
Crab with a fennel and apple salad to start.
This was so fresh tasting it was fantastic.
Lara and Harvey both had squid and devoured it before I had time to take the photo.
For main I had a very naughty cheeseburger with fries.
It was good. Very very good.
This was even more naughty but totally delicious. It’s the george sundae and it was a delightful concoction made from brownie, chocolate and blackcurrant ice-cream, cream and hazelnuts topped with cherries, laduree, chocolate, cherries and a crunchy sugar thingy. Very good but oh, so naughty.
I should then have gone home and fasted for about a week but instead the bad behaviour continued as I tottered over the road to help celebrate Sarah’s birthday. It had to be done!
And now, Monday is here and a new week is upon you.
Yes, and I was really good today. I hope you have a good week
You do what you have to do. 😀
