Royal Ascot 2014

What a fabulous day we all had at Ascot.  This is one of my favourite days of the year and although I had to cut my day short, I did enjoy every minute I was there.

I didn’t have the pleasure of my glamorous daughter’s company this year as she was working at Ascot so I waved her off first thing and then made myself some breakfast.Lara off to Ascot I thought a smoothie would be a good start and made one with natural yogurt, peanut butter, blackberries, blueberries, spinach and some coconut milk.smoothie ings 19-6-14 Very tasty.smoothie 19-6-14 I was given a parking space this year which was a treat but I don’t think my little red car quite fitted in with all the big cars!  Lots of people have a grand picnic out of the back of their car but we were eating inside.Up at Ascot We were in the Royal Enclosure which has a very strict dress code.  All the ladies have to wear a hat or a substantial fascinator – ALL the ladies 🙂Dog with fascinatorHaving arrived I could breathe deep, reeeeeelax and enjoy the day.

I arrived later than my friends who were already in the Seafood restaurant we eat in each year.

horses at AscotI was sad to leave early today but I had an important event to attend.  I did break my journey to grab a sandwich, drink and ice cream (oops).
supper 19-6-14 I went to the little fella’s school to enjoy the opening night of ‘Honk!’ which is based on the story of the Ugly Duckling.  It was very comical, with excellent singing and acting.  My little cherub was a froglet and he did me proud.  Very proud.Harvey the froglet

So after that amazing day, it will be hard to come up with something that could match it for fun and enjoyment.  Luckily, I believe I have just the thing lined up for tomorrow and the weekend.  I do LOVE this time of year.

About Lose Weight and Gain Health

Hi! My name is Zoe and I live in Hastings, East Sussex, with my son Harvey and dog, Milton. I have been fighting the fat for years but this time I am serious. I want to lose weight and gain health. This blog is about how I am changing my lifestyle so I can lose weight but not by just "being on a diet" but by making small changes to our lives so that as I lose weight, I gain health. I want my family to be healthy too and never have to struggle with their weight like I have. In common with many large people, I have gained and lost weight many times over the years. This time, I want to lose it and maintain a healthy low weight. I am interested in eating food that is nutrient dense and delicious and that appeals to children and adults. I do not eat animal products so follow a vegan diet. I try to use locally produced food supplemented with what I can grow myself. I support and try to use local farmers markets and farm shops. Another objective is to add more exercise to our days. It sounds so simple when I write it down :-)
