Planning Paid Off

I tried really hard yesterday to plan for the week ahead so I had plenty of healthy and sugar free meals and snacks to hand.  It worked well today.  I ate some delicious food but didn’t have to prepare any of it, just reheat or get out of the fridge.  My forward planning really paid off.

For breakfast I took a portion of coco-nutty-granola with raspberries and natural yogurt (unsweetened) in to work.granola raspberries and yogurtI just love that cereal and it was perfect with the raspberries and yogurt.Breakfast 28-4-14 Lunch was a combination of Saturday evening’s stir fried rice and prawns and Sunday’s bulgar wheat with roasted vegetables.lunch 28-4-14 2 We have a microwave at work which I rarely use but it was handy today.  I didn’t heat the prawns in the microwave as I was worried they may turn rubbery.  Instead I poked them in to the rice as soon as it came out of the microwave and they became warm in the steam.  It was very good and reheated perfectly.lunch 28-4-14 1 For supper we had bolognaise sauce which was full of veggies.  Harvey had his with spaghetti and I had mine with asparagus which I steamed over the pan cooking the pasta.asparagus and bolognaise It was a modest sized bowl of bolognaise and I was still peckish afterwards so I had 2 Dr Karg’s with Cambazola (a delicious cheese, like a Brie with blue threads in it).2 Karg's

So I am pleased with today as I didn’t break any of the week 1 ‘I Quit Sugar’ rules.   All my food was homemade (apart from the crackers), nutritous and delicious.

About Lose Weight and Gain Health

Hi! My name is Zoe and I live in Hastings, East Sussex, with my son Harvey and dog, Milton. I have been fighting the fat for years but this time I am serious. I want to lose weight and gain health. This blog is about how I am changing my lifestyle so I can lose weight but not by just "being on a diet" but by making small changes to our lives so that as I lose weight, I gain health. I want my family to be healthy too and never have to struggle with their weight like I have. In common with many large people, I have gained and lost weight many times over the years. This time, I want to lose it and maintain a healthy low weight. I am interested in eating food that is nutrient dense and delicious and that appeals to children and adults. I do not eat animal products so follow a vegan diet. I try to use locally produced food supplemented with what I can grow myself. I support and try to use local farmers markets and farm shops. Another objective is to add more exercise to our days. It sounds so simple when I write it down :-)
