A Few Busy Days

What a busy few days I have had.  I have been incredibly busy at work, making the most of the last couple of days in Bankside and enjoying socialising.

Thursday was my last day in the Bankside office and I made the most of being so close to Tate Modern by visiting it at lunch time.  It is an enormous building, much of which is left empty which is unusual, to be in so much space.Inside Tate Modern There was a big exhibition of Surrealism and I was delighted to see a Dali painting.Metamorphosis of Narcissus When I was a much younger woman, and we decorated university rooms and bedrooms with posters, many of my friends had a poster of this picture.  I didn’t have this one, I had ‘Sleep’ but seeing this painting brought back so many very happy memories of a time that suddenly seems so long ago.  I think this painting is fantastic and it seemed a real honour to be standing in front of it.  It is surprisingly small!Dali painting There was so much to see but so little time.Homework I will miss the views of Saint Paul’s but I am sure our new location will have a whole new panorama for me to enjoy.St Paul's from Tate Modern I whizzed in to Albion on the way back to the office.  I will miss this place.  It opened when I moved here and it has been a pleasure to see it becoming more and more popular.Albion from Tate side Roasted vegetable and chicken salad.  Delicious.Albion chicken mayo salad In the late afternoon I ran over to the lounge at Citizen M for a cup of tea with Gail.  It was too rushed but at least I managed to see her and enjoy being in this lovely lounge, albeit briefly,  before I left.lights Citizen MIn the evening I enjoyed a delicious pizza with my sister Lucy and her family.  We went to Mosaic, an Italian restaurant and Pizzeria in Archway which was excellent.
H, H and O I did weaken and enjoyed a huge and cheesey pizza.4 cheese pizza Since then I have eaten some extremely healthy meals such as this huge bowl of kale cooked with onions and mushrooms.bowl of kale and mushrooms Topped with some brown basmati rice and an omelette.egg and green veg Sardines with rice and raw vegetables.sardines and rice salad A smoothie made with mixed berries, cashew butter, coconut water, Maca powder and protein powder.smoothie 22-2-14 A very healthy lunch today made with brown Basmati rice, black eyed beans, yellow pepper, tomato, celery, carrot, parsley, basil and coriander.  No dressing, just salt, pepper and some chilli.lunch 22-2-14Unfortunately I have also eaten some cakes, chocolate and we had a curry for supper tonight.  I have put on a few pounds which I am disappointed about. I need to be in more and prepare meals and be less rushed and busy.  Next week is looking ridiculously busy too but I will do my best to eat well and exercise.

About Lose Weight and Gain Health

Hi! My name is Zoe and I live in Hastings, East Sussex, with my son Harvey and dog, Milton. I have been fighting the fat for years but this time I am serious. I want to lose weight and gain health. This blog is about how I am changing my lifestyle so I can lose weight but not by just "being on a diet" but by making small changes to our lives so that as I lose weight, I gain health. I want my family to be healthy too and never have to struggle with their weight like I have. In common with many large people, I have gained and lost weight many times over the years. This time, I want to lose it and maintain a healthy low weight. I am interested in eating food that is nutrient dense and delicious and that appeals to children and adults. I do not eat animal products so follow a vegan diet. I try to use locally produced food supplemented with what I can grow myself. I support and try to use local farmers markets and farm shops. Another objective is to add more exercise to our days. It sounds so simple when I write it down :-)
