Healthy Take Away

After a busy weekend I was too tired on Sunday evening to prepare food to take to work.  I resisted the temptation to grab an unhealthy breakfast and instead survived on black tea and coffee until lunch time when I walked a mile to the nearest pod to my office.  I wanted to go to pod because they tell you the calories in each meal and the nutrition breakdown.  The information they don’t provide though was if the food contains sugar.  However, 10/10 for pod.  I emailed one of their email addresses and my query was answered really quickly.  They are in the process of adding sugar to their nutritional profiles but the very helpful lady who answered my questions told me how much sugar was in the food I had eaten – very little 🙂

I went to the pod in More Place which is near London Bridge.pod wall hanging From More Place you have a rather lovely view.Looking East from More Place This is City Hall, where the London Assembly and the Mayor of London have their offices. The Beehive City Hall is close to Tower Bridge.Tower Bridge Which is next to the Tower of London.Tower of London A little bit further West along the North side of the river is The City. The City from More Place Having not eaten any breakfast, I had 2 things for lunch.  The chicken Nori wrap which amazingly only had 187 calories, which seemed too low to me but I double checked with the man behind the counter who assured me that was correct!pod chicken nori rolls I really liked this.  It was absolutely delicious and I will be having this again.pod nori rolls I also had a protein box which had smoked salmon mixed with dill and horseradish, boiled egg, ham and chicken with some chilli and sesame seeds.

Plus soya milk in three cups of tea and my daily total was 1,230 calories.  I earnt 246 calories by walking 2 miles in 40 minutes  so ended the day within my allowance.  I am pleased about that as I was worried that my weekend of eating bad foods would have tipped me back in to the land of unhealthy eating.  Luckily not.

About Lose Weight and Gain Health

Hi! My name is Zoe and I live in Hastings, East Sussex, with my son Harvey and dog, Milton. I have been fighting the fat for years but this time I am serious. I want to lose weight and gain health. This blog is about how I am changing my lifestyle so I can lose weight but not by just "being on a diet" but by making small changes to our lives so that as I lose weight, I gain health. I want my family to be healthy too and never have to struggle with their weight like I have. In common with many large people, I have gained and lost weight many times over the years. This time, I want to lose it and maintain a healthy low weight. I am interested in eating food that is nutrient dense and delicious and that appeals to children and adults. I do not eat animal products so follow a vegan diet. I try to use locally produced food supplemented with what I can grow myself. I support and try to use local farmers markets and farm shops. Another objective is to add more exercise to our days. It sounds so simple when I write it down :-)
