The First Day

Today was the first day of my 3 week holiday.  I set myself the task of exercising and eating healthily every day.

The very first thing I did today was to go for a walk.  It was glorious outside this morning; sunny with blue skies, a comfortable temperature and crisp underfoot.  Perfect walking weather.  The little fella and I had a wonderful walk with the dogs.  Why don’t I start days like this more often?

I made sure I drank plenty of water today.  Plus I cut down on dairy by avoiding cheese and having black teas rather than milky ones.  I did have one latte but a small one.bottle and glass water I had a late breakfast with 4 of these lovely spinach falafels which I heated up in the oven.spinach falafel Served with a heaped tbsp humous and a large tomato.falafel, tomatoes and humous Really delicious.Breakfast 14-12-13 Lara and I had a late lunch in Battle.  We went to Mrs Burtons Tea Rooms which was very charming and oh, so English.  I had cottage pie with vegetables and a latte.  I really enjoyed it.Cottage Pie

So I exercised, ate reasonably well and drank plenty of water.  I did go to the local this evening and had a white wine spritzer and some nuts.  Not delicious raw healthy nuts but roasted salted ones.  But I did not over eat today and I did not have any sugar so I am pleased with that.  I hope I do well tomorrow too.

About Lose Weight and Gain Health

Hi! My name is Zoe and I live in Hastings, East Sussex, with my son Harvey and dog, Milton. I have been fighting the fat for years but this time I am serious. I want to lose weight and gain health. This blog is about how I am changing my lifestyle so I can lose weight but not by just "being on a diet" but by making small changes to our lives so that as I lose weight, I gain health. I want my family to be healthy too and never have to struggle with their weight like I have. In common with many large people, I have gained and lost weight many times over the years. This time, I want to lose it and maintain a healthy low weight. I am interested in eating food that is nutrient dense and delicious and that appeals to children and adults. I do not eat animal products so follow a vegan diet. I try to use locally produced food supplemented with what I can grow myself. I support and try to use local farmers markets and farm shops. Another objective is to add more exercise to our days. It sounds so simple when I write it down :-)
