Enjoy The Early Morning

I really enjoy sunny mornings in London.  I enjoy them anywhere actually but walking to work in the early morning sunshine is so much more enjoyable than walking though the dark in Winter or enduring inclement weather.

Early morning (7:30 – 8 am ish) the market is quiet, peaceful and empty.

Borough Market early On a Wednesday more stalls are open than at the beginning of the week and they have their deliveries dropped off early.  I like the juice bar but it is always closed on a Monday and Tuesday.Wheatgrass deliveryOutside Turnip, the fruits and veggies are sorted and labelled up ready to be delivered to various restaurants.

It would be quicker for me to walk behind Southwark Cathedral to get to my office but then I wouldn’t walk past the coffee Mecca would I?

Walking towards Monmouth Hello Monmouth!Monmouth coffee shop I resolved to not have any lattes today.Outside Monmouth I had an Espresso instead and it was gorgeous.  I do prefer lattes but this was saving loads of calories.Monmouth Espresso I would have liked to sit in but I usually have a takeaway and I did so again today.Inside Monmouth 10-7-13 So I left the Baristas to it and went to work.Monmouth I had a fruit pot from Pret for breakfast.Pret fruit After a couple of hours I was hungry so I got another fruit pot and another Espresso, this time from EAT.EAT fruit and coffee I didn’t get out for lunch until 2:30 by which time I was very hungry.  I walked back to the market and bought some peaches to take home and a nectarine to have for lunch.peaches and nectarines A lovely red apple.red apples A green juice made with celery, spinach, apple and parsley plus wheatgrass.Green juice and wheatgrass I had an apricot too.lunch 10-7-13 As soon as I got home this evening I went out to play tennis for nearly an hour and a half. I was rather pleased with a low calorie day of eating and some enjoyable exercise.  I just need to be sensible again tomorrow.

About Lose Weight and Gain Health

Hi! My name is Zoe and I live in Hastings, East Sussex, with my son Harvey and dog, Milton. I have been fighting the fat for years but this time I am serious. I want to lose weight and gain health. This blog is about how I am changing my lifestyle so I can lose weight but not by just "being on a diet" but by making small changes to our lives so that as I lose weight, I gain health. I want my family to be healthy too and never have to struggle with their weight like I have. In common with many large people, I have gained and lost weight many times over the years. This time, I want to lose it and maintain a healthy low weight. I am interested in eating food that is nutrient dense and delicious and that appeals to children and adults. I do not eat animal products so follow a vegan diet. I try to use locally produced food supplemented with what I can grow myself. I support and try to use local farmers markets and farm shops. Another objective is to add more exercise to our days. It sounds so simple when I write it down :-)
