Back At It

I have been sooooo gooooood today :-).  I began with a tea with Goji berries, cayenne pepper and lemon juice.  I had it without the maple syrup and it was fine as the Goji berries provide enough sweetness.

My mile (at least) a day was achieved with a walk with my lovely children and the dogs in the woods over the road.  Well, we walk, Lara runs and the dogs get confused.

Harvey was feeling adventurous and wanted to try a new route which he made up as we went along.H and M

It involved more mud and water than our usual route but was beautiful, especially in the sunshine.walking 1-4-13

I was feeling full from yesterday so skipped breakfast but when I went out I did take a nectarine which I ate in the car.nectarine in car

I had an apple later too.pink lady in car

I had a very simple and low calorie late lunch, featuring a Kaffir lime.  Look how much smaller it is to the regular lime!  It is more pungent so a little goes a long way in terms of flavour.2 limes

I mashed a small avocado in with the lime juice, plus salt and then added chopped tomato and fresh coriander.tomatoes and coriander

Served with 2 thin oatcakes.  A delicious and nutritious lunch that was less than 400 calories.

Supper starred vegetables too, as I hope most meals will again from now on.  I stir fried some green and red pepper, tenderstem broccoli and green beans in coconut oil which smells wonderful when it is cooking.veg 1-4-13

I added in 71g left over roast duck from yesterday and added half a sachet of Waitrose’s fragrant Thai stir fry sauce which was lovely.  Served over 50 g of brown basmati rice.Dinner 1-4-13

I have eaten just over 1,000 calories today which is less than I am allowed but I needed a light day after my recent over-eating.  I feel really pleased that I have eaten so healthily and I feel so much better then I did this time yesterday.  I feel alert and full of energy.  Long may it continue!

About Lose Weight and Gain Health

Hi! My name is Zoe and I live in Hastings, East Sussex, with my son Harvey and dog, Milton. I have been fighting the fat for years but this time I am serious. I want to lose weight and gain health. This blog is about how I am changing my lifestyle so I can lose weight but not by just "being on a diet" but by making small changes to our lives so that as I lose weight, I gain health. I want my family to be healthy too and never have to struggle with their weight like I have. In common with many large people, I have gained and lost weight many times over the years. This time, I want to lose it and maintain a healthy low weight. I am interested in eating food that is nutrient dense and delicious and that appeals to children and adults. I do not eat animal products so follow a vegan diet. I try to use locally produced food supplemented with what I can grow myself. I support and try to use local farmers markets and farm shops. Another objective is to add more exercise to our days. It sounds so simple when I write it down :-)

I’m smiling from ear to ear on your great success today that feels energizing reading about. ♥ the morning tea too! ☺ The colours were awesome. Your dinner is basically what I am having for dinner tonight, but with free range organic chicken breasts. That duck did look amazing yesterday and again today.

    • Thank you Laura, as always for your support. It does feel good to be eating well again and i have a healthy lunch and healthy snacks all prepared and sitting in the fridge to take to work tomorrow. The duck was excellent 🙂
