Down But Not Out

Weight Watchers weigh in tonight did not go well.  Or rather, my debauchery over the weekend was expensive and I put on 1.5 pounds which I am disappointed about and cross with myself about.  I came home and had one of those moments all dieters face, some more frequently than others.   Shall I stuff my face to get over my failing or strengthen my resolve.  I decided to be better then ever and had a light supper.  So I am down but not out.  Or up but not giving in.

Our day of positive thinking started early.  Despite the lightest of snow coverings, a certain someone raced outside to make a snowball and managed it.

Snowball

Breakfast was 8 points:

40 g oats = 4
200 ml almond milk = 2
15 g almond butter = 3
blueberry porridge

My 1 hour walk was wetwet walk

and muddy.Muddy walk

Lunch was 14 points:

1 chicken breast = 4
1 tbsp olive oil = 4
1 falafel = 4
1 medium corn on the cob = 2
lunch 14-1-13 1
It was delicious, stir fried with Benenden Sauce which I am loving and some chilli flakes as I fancied something spicy after a cold walk.  The falafel crumbled to make the meal seem more bulky than yesterdays version and the cavolo nero with the Benenden Sauce in particular tasted wonderful.  This will be repeated.lunch 14-1-13

Supper was 11 points:

half a tub of Tideford’s Italian Tomato and Red Lentil Soup = 2
30 g Cheddar = 3
50 g Stilton = 6
Cheese on scales and soup
I stirred the cheese in to the soup which makes it tasty and more substantial.Tomato soup and cheese

I also had milk in tea which was 2 points and I earned 5 activity points from 1 hours walking.  I also snacked on 2 apples.  So a healthy day which is a successful day.

About Lose Weight and Gain Health

Hi! My name is Zoe and I live in Hastings, East Sussex, with my son Harvey and dog, Milton. I have been fighting the fat for years but this time I am serious. I want to lose weight and gain health. This blog is about how I am changing my lifestyle so I can lose weight but not by just "being on a diet" but by making small changes to our lives so that as I lose weight, I gain health. I want my family to be healthy too and never have to struggle with their weight like I have. In common with many large people, I have gained and lost weight many times over the years. This time, I want to lose it and maintain a healthy low weight. I am interested in eating food that is nutrient dense and delicious and that appeals to children and adults. I do not eat animal products so follow a vegan diet. I try to use locally produced food supplemented with what I can grow myself. I support and try to use local farmers markets and farm shops. Another objective is to add more exercise to our days. It sounds so simple when I write it down :-)

I am proud of you for not throwing in the towel on all your hard work since the start of the year. 1.5 pounds can easily be gained or lost in one day depending on what you ate and if there was sodium involved, it can easily be water weight you had today. Stick with it Zoe. Persistence pays off!
