Back To It

Back to it today.  Back to eating what I like.  Well, determined to lose weight and be healthy.

The first cuppa in a week was so gooood.

Breakfast was some cherry tomatoes lightly sautéed in a smudge of butter and 2 scrambled eggs.  I really enjoyed it.

Mid-morning I had a coffee and gave in to temptation and had one of the birthday cupcakes.  And then 2 more.  The caramel icing was just too irresistible.  They are really small but undoubtedly 3 was 3 too many!

For lunch I made 4 rashers of bacon, 1/2 a can of beans and some Cheddar.  Just a sprinkling of Cheddar.

Since lunch didn’t have any vegetables with it, in the afternoon I snacked on a nectarine

and a pear.

For supper we had wholewheat spaghetti with roasted vegetables (red peppers, cherry tomatoes, sweetcorn and courgette) and goats cheese.

I had approximately 70g spaghetti and 75 g goats cheese.  This was simple to make and really tasty.

Unfortunately I then succumbed to a packet of Hula Hoops leftover from the party.  I really need to not have this stuff in the house.

I went to Weight Watchers tonight for the first since June.  I have put on 4 pounds which I felt really disappointed about.  So, I need to get back on track and start focusing properly on losing weight.  We are going on holiday in a months time and I want to be the next stone down so I am going to work hard at eating less and exercising more.  Back to it 🙂

About Lose Weight and Gain Health

Hi! My name is Zoe and I live in Hastings, East Sussex, with my son Harvey and dog, Milton. I have been fighting the fat for years but this time I am serious. I want to lose weight and gain health. This blog is about how I am changing my lifestyle so I can lose weight but not by just "being on a diet" but by making small changes to our lives so that as I lose weight, I gain health. I want my family to be healthy too and never have to struggle with their weight like I have. In common with many large people, I have gained and lost weight many times over the years. This time, I want to lose it and maintain a healthy low weight. I am interested in eating food that is nutrient dense and delicious and that appeals to children and adults. I do not eat animal products so follow a vegan diet. I try to use locally produced food supplemented with what I can grow myself. I support and try to use local farmers markets and farm shops. Another objective is to add more exercise to our days. It sounds so simple when I write it down :-)

Zöe, the best road to success when changing your lifestyle to release weight is first and foremost…dejunk the house. I know you will get arguments from those who want their sweets, but hopefully you can come up with a solution to please everyone; like keeping the temptations in one place that you cannot go to or teaching them just how much more energy they will get from eating fruits and nuts as their snacks, just in moderation because of the natural sugar content and high fat content, even if it is good fat. It all adds up.

Portion control is your best friend. Affirm to yourself that you enjoy feeling healthier better then you do feeling guilty or crashing from a sugar high of refined sugar.
You can do this Zöe. As the old saying goes, “fall down 7 times; get up 8.” Today was your wake-up reminder that temptation creates weight you don’t want. We all fall down Zöe. Winners get back up and you ARE a winner. Look at what you have accomplished already and will again. To the next stone gone. Decide what your reward will be as motivation when you release the next 5 lbs and it can’t be food.
