Day 3 Starvation

OK, I exaggerate, we are not starving, but today was not easy.  Apparently I should feel “euphoric” and have “moments of mental clarity”.  I can’t say I noticed either of those today and I felt hungry.

So I followed the same regime as I have the past 2 days but in the office.  My colleagues were not tempted to try a clay shake!  There was only one place to go for lunch.

Not this place!  I like Turnips but I think this colourful display of juices is rather cheeky.  You would assume, because they are served in the same type of container as the juice bar next door and because they are a fresh fruit and vegetable stall, that these are fresh juices.  But they are not.  They are just poured from large bottles which are then all removed from view.  To be fair to Turnips, they do not claim to be fresh juices.  But they give the impression they are.

Not for me though.  I followed this sign.

Total Organics Juice Bar!

I decided to go for the ultra healthy.  I included a Wheatgrass shot

which came in the Green Deluxe, along with spinach, cucumber, parsley and apple.

It’s very green!  I took it back to the office to mix the shake powder in by which time my colleagues were convinced I really was insane 🙂 .  It was OK actually.

I drank a lot of orange juice today as that is all the canteen at work sold so that became a bit boring.  I can eat real food tomorrow – fresh fruit which I am really excited about :-).

As requested by Harvey, because he is missing her so much, here’s another picture of Beryl!

About Lose Weight and Gain Health

Hi! My name is Zoe and I live in Hastings, East Sussex, with my son Harvey and dog, Milton. I have been fighting the fat for years but this time I am serious. I want to lose weight and gain health. This blog is about how I am changing my lifestyle so I can lose weight but not by just "being on a diet" but by making small changes to our lives so that as I lose weight, I gain health. I want my family to be healthy too and never have to struggle with their weight like I have. In common with many large people, I have gained and lost weight many times over the years. This time, I want to lose it and maintain a healthy low weight. I am interested in eating food that is nutrient dense and delicious and that appeals to children and adults. I do not eat animal products so follow a vegan diet. I try to use locally produced food supplemented with what I can grow myself. I support and try to use local farmers markets and farm shops. Another objective is to add more exercise to our days. It sounds so simple when I write it down :-)

I am very proud of you for not giving in and sticking with it. Good call with the shot of Wheatgrass! At least you could get some energy and not crash as quickly from the sugar spike of the fruit juices.
