Family In My Suitcase

I worked much longer and harder today than I expected to.  This is going to be another tough week!

This looks weird but it was quite tasty.  I had some left over smoothie from yesterday and I used it to make porridge with this morning.  The chunks are banana to sweeten it as it was a bit sharp.

Lunch was reheated lentil and aubergine bake with rice, yogurt and cheese.  It reheated really well.  Too well actually because I ate most of it before remembering to take a photo!  I will definitely be making this again, it really was very good.

After working from 6am until 6pm (yes, I did!) I hastily packed and drove up to Birmingham.  I was so tired when I got here because I had worked flat out all day, without even time for a dog walk at lunch time 😦 .  I knew I must have been tired.  On my way out to dinner I stopped at a cashpoint machine to withdraw £200.  I carried on walking and this man called after me – I had only left the cash in the machine!!!!  He could easily have taken it as I had definitely walked away and was round the corner.  How extraordinarily kind of him.  Whoever you are, thank you very much.

Look who I packed in my suitcase!

This Mama has had enough of being without her babies so she brought them with her.  We had a superb drive up here and arrived about 2 hours and 40 minutes after leaving home.  No traffic at all, it was brilliant.  We checked in to the hotel and went out for dinner to Wagamama’s.

I had miso soup (Lara was posion tester), edamame beans,

Pad Thai,

with a beer,

and white chocolate and ginger cheesecake – oops.

Our desserts were on the house as an apology for not having a dairy free dessert except an ice lolly – happy with that!

We had a stroll along the canals to stretch our legs before retiring for the night

and then headed back to the hotel.  Lara and I had sleep on our minds but the little fella had other ideas!

All relaxed now and sleep beckons.  It is so much fun having them here with me.  I must pack them more often.

About Lose Weight and Gain Health

Hi! My name is Zoe and I live in Hastings, East Sussex, with my son Harvey and dog, Milton. I have been fighting the fat for years but this time I am serious. I want to lose weight and gain health. This blog is about how I am changing my lifestyle so I can lose weight but not by just "being on a diet" but by making small changes to our lives so that as I lose weight, I gain health. I want my family to be healthy too and never have to struggle with their weight like I have. In common with many large people, I have gained and lost weight many times over the years. This time, I want to lose it and maintain a healthy low weight. I am interested in eating food that is nutrient dense and delicious and that appeals to children and adults. I do not eat animal products so follow a vegan diet. I try to use locally produced food supplemented with what I can grow myself. I support and try to use local farmers markets and farm shops. Another objective is to add more exercise to our days. It sounds so simple when I write it down :-)

I’m glad you were able to bring the kids with you. Well, Lara is far from being a kid. Tell her I like the new lighter look with the hair. Bob noticed it too a couple of days ago.

Your food definitely looked really interesting today. I love the idea of left over smoothie to make porridge.
