London Turns Pink

What is happening to London?  I turned up to the office yesterday to find Wenlock (Olympic mascot) outside.

When I walked along Bankside at lunch time, there were more Wenlocks and Mandevilles (Paralympic mascot).  But I forgot my camera so no photos 😦

I found a new eatery today.  It is not new but I had not noticed it before so it is new to me – degustibus.  An artisan bakery.  So this is not a good thing for me to find because I find bread hard to resist and for breakfast I had 2 slices of wholemeal toast with peanut butter and jam.  I haven’t had that for ages and I did enjoy it.

The street painters were busy today.  I love this one – it shows you how far the Olympic record holder jumped in the long jump.  Just extraordinary how far that is.

We also have lots of sporting symbols on the ground.

Banners from the lampposts.

Olympic lanes in the roads which will create complete chaosStreet signs everywhere.

So today may be my last day in London for a while.  My team are decamping to Birmingham plus some home working during the Olympics.

I had a smoothie for supper tonight but last night I made a delicious stir fry.  Starring a bunch of leaves from the garden

red pepper, onion, sweetcorn and chicken.  I cooked it with fresh ginger and some chill sauce I bought in a farm shop.

It was delicious.

So while London bakes in sunshine and is slowly but surely being covered in pink signs, I am out of there for a while.  I need to pack as I am off to Birmingham at 5:30 tomorrow morning.  Just time for a lil drink with Lucy tonight first.  Enjoy the heat 🙂

About Lose Weight and Gain Health

Hi! My name is Zoe and I live in Hastings, East Sussex, with my son Harvey and dog, Milton. I have been fighting the fat for years but this time I am serious. I want to lose weight and gain health. This blog is about how I am changing my lifestyle so I can lose weight but not by just "being on a diet" but by making small changes to our lives so that as I lose weight, I gain health. I want my family to be healthy too and never have to struggle with their weight like I have. In common with many large people, I have gained and lost weight many times over the years. This time, I want to lose it and maintain a healthy low weight. I am interested in eating food that is nutrient dense and delicious and that appeals to children and adults. I do not eat animal products so follow a vegan diet. I try to use locally produced food supplemented with what I can grow myself. I support and try to use local farmers markets and farm shops. Another objective is to add more exercise to our days. It sounds so simple when I write it down :-)
