I Scream

I screamed at the dogs when I came downstairs to find a large puddle by the front door!  Not the best start to the day.  However, that was the only low point of the day.

Look at this beauty.

I love pomegranates.  I know a lot of people hate the pips but they don’t bother me at all. I ate some as it came

and added half of the rest to the blender with strawberries, blueberries, a banana, some chia seeds and almond milk.  Oh yes, that was a yummy one.

I also made a salad to take to work.

As well as all those lovely veggies, I had some leftover chicken and purple potato salad.

I chopped up one chicken thigh and one large spoonful of potato salad.  I took it to work with me.  It was easy to make a salad today because I was working in Gillingham so I don’t have to leave as early as when I work in London.  It was a really good salad and I enjoyed it all.

For supper I had two lovely dishes of leftovers from Friday lunch time to use up.

Some roast chicken pieces

and roasted vegetables.

Covered in foil, popped in the oven for 40 minutes and it was ready.  Harvey and I had a tasty and nutritious dinner.

It was delicious but I was still hungry so I had some more vegetables with a little bit of Comte grated on top.  The Comte and vegetables went really well together.

I still have Easter goodies in the house, including probably the very best ice-cream ever invented – maple syrup ice cream with caramelised pecan nuts and caramel swirls.  WOW!!!  Totally awesome and impossible to resist.

I scream,    you scream,    we all scream for ice-cream 🙂

About Lose Weight and Gain Health

Hi! My name is Zoe and I live in Hastings, East Sussex, with my son Harvey and dog, Milton. I have been fighting the fat for years but this time I am serious. I want to lose weight and gain health. This blog is about how I am changing my lifestyle so I can lose weight but not by just "being on a diet" but by making small changes to our lives so that as I lose weight, I gain health. I want my family to be healthy too and never have to struggle with their weight like I have. In common with many large people, I have gained and lost weight many times over the years. This time, I want to lose it and maintain a healthy low weight. I am interested in eating food that is nutrient dense and delicious and that appeals to children and adults. I do not eat animal products so follow a vegan diet. I try to use locally produced food supplemented with what I can grow myself. I support and try to use local farmers markets and farm shops. Another objective is to add more exercise to our days. It sounds so simple when I write it down :-)

Oh. My. Goodness!!! That is my MOST FAVOURITE i-scream ever – but they stopped selling it in these here parts (the not so wild parts of East Sussex) and I have had to make do with alternative, poor substitute versions (I know, I could have just stopped indulging but I am weak). I see a pilgrimage to Kent in a coming weekend – in a very fast car kitted out with a cool box!
Or maybe I will get off my backside and start making some of the amazing smoothies you make – much better idea.
Loving hearing how you manage to eat well even when you are at work rushed off your feet.

  2. Ocado darling – you can order vats of the divine concoction with out ever leaving the house 🙂 If you wanted to come to Kent though, it would be lovely to see you 🙂
